Peter H Koumas DMD Teeth Problems Free Consultation

Damaged or missing teeth can cause a variety of problems for you. You may not be happy with your appearance, and will therefore be self-conscious. Additionally, missing or weakened teeth will dramatically impact how and what you are able to eat.

Give us a call today to learn more about crowns.

Sometimes your teeth are too damaged to be fixed with just a filling. After a root canal, a crown may be put in place to fill a large hole and prevent farther damage. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth providing strength and protecting the tooth against breakage. It takes two appointments to restore a tooth with a crown. In the first any decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, usually of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold.
